At the end of her career, she was teaching at Sandalwood Jr. & Sr. High School. Her love of music and the fellowship of the church led her to become Choir Director for the Arlington Congregational Church from 1964-2001. Marian loved life and everyone she came in contact with. Her excitement for life's experiences created a multitude of friendships that have lasted a lifetime. She had a great journey with many friends and relatives who loved her. Since retirement, she loved travel, musical performances, spending time with her friends, and her family. We will miss her always positive outlook on life, her humor and especially her love. Mrs. Meeker always comes to my mind when I hear patriotic songs, Christmas carols, or silly kids' songs like b-i-n-g-o, because I learned them all in her class. I was lucky enough to have attended Seabreeze Elementary school from '81-'85, where Mrs. Meeker taught music. I remember her showing such happiness, passion and enthusiasm. She always played the piano and sang along with us. I Googled Mrs. Meeker on a whim last night, after a Christmas tune brought me back (in my mind) to Seabreeze. I'm saddened to hear of her passing. My sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Sincere condolences to Mrs. Meeker family. She was my 1st music teacher @ Hogan Spring Glenn. Upon her arrival @ designated day, there was such anticipation. We looked forward to her visit, like a special field trip out of school. The instrument which she played in the classroom was a string instrument (may have been a lap harp) & boy did she strum! She was full of joy and shared her gift freely. God Speed Mrs. Meeker, you were one special teacher. Sincerely, Bonnie Moore

Mrs. Meeker was my choir director for two years at Southside Junior High
in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a major influence on my performing and teaching career. I decided to teach elementary music and shall retire as she did
with Duval County School Board. She was an excellent pianist and director.
On of her favorite songs was "Falling Leaves," as we performed in concert.
It was one of my first choir experiences and I can still hear her bombastic
piano accompaniment. May you rest in peace and keep singing with the angels.
God bless your family. Mrs. Gay Lynn Montgomery Lynch

Dear Tom and Family, Marian was an inspiration to so many people in her life. I was fortunate to know her through her many years of teaching Music in the Duval County Schools and have great admiration for her work with young people. She will be remembered as a vibrant, dedicated teacher that was deeply loved by all that knew her. The photo presentation of her life was a wonderful tribute to her memory. I am keeping each one of you in my thoughts and prayers. Be strong through God's Love.

Dear Tom & family,
We are praying for you and hoping the wonderful family times together will bring loving memories to ease your loss. Marian was always delightful to be around. I would have loved to have sung in her choirs, or performed in her drama productions. You have a great photo album of memories. I especially enjoyed seeing her as a young woman, and with her family. Love to you all.
