ROBERT FITZPATRICK Obituary
FITZPATRICK Robert J. Fitzpatrick, born 2/01/1924, passed away on 4/02/13. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Joyce; parents, James and Ruth Fitzpatrick, and his brother, Glenn Fitzpatrick. He is survived by his daughter, Ellen Fitzpatrick Milligan; as well as his sister, Betty Sperberg, many long-time friends and relatives. Bob will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father and educator. After service in the Navy during WWII, he received his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He taught high school history for 13 years and then became a technical school administrator working in financial aid, primarily for veterans. Upon retirement and the move to Florida, he became an active volunteer including past President of the Mandarin AARP chapter and a docent for the Maritime Museum. He was also a charter member and then life member of the Mandarin Museum & Historical Society, as well as being involved in the American Lighthouse Historical Society, Duval Audubon Society, Sierra Club, Mandarin Community Club, and Meals on Wheels. Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, at the Mandarin Cemetery on Mandarin Road. Rev Patrice Spencer officiating. In lieu of flowers, please forward a donation in his memory to either The Salvation Army or a Veterans' Support group. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of George H.
