HARPER Funeral services for Richard Paul IW Harper, 77, will be held 10AM Thursday, July 10, 2014 in the chapel at JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd. Orange Park, FL. Interment will follow in Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military honors. Richard was born on April 2, 1937 in Smithsburg, West Virginia. He went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2014 in Orange Park, FL surrounded by his family. Richard served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years of devoted service. He went on to make a career as a Marine Mechanic and retired after 20 years of dedicated service. Richard was predeceased by his loving wife of 45 years, Juannette Harper. He is survived by his son, Richard Paul Harper, Jr. (Brenda); two daughters, Sherry Crumpler (Mike), and Karen Higginbotham (Ronnie); seven grandchildren, Angela Baker, Michael Crumpler, Jr., Michelle Crumpler, Stacey Sparks, Nicholas Wilson, Ronnie Higginbotham, Jr., and Billy Will; three great-grandchildren, Brycen Crumpler, Caroline Baker and Connor Wilson; companion, Roberta Bobbie Crane, and many other loving family members and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday (TODAY) from 5PM-7PM at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Richard touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him
