IVORY Funeral Services for Air Force Retired SMSgt Roger B. Ivory will be held 10 AM, FRIDAY, July 11, 2014 at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, where he held membership, with Rev. Will A. Waldrop, Pastor, officiating. A native of Jacksonville, FL, he attended the local schools of Duval County. After completing high school Mr. Ivory enlisted in the Military where he served in the Korean and the Vietnam Wars. Afterwards, he continued and completed 28 and a half years of Military Service until he retired. Mr. Ivory went on working in Civil Service at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonville for an additional 23 years before again retiring. Mr. Ivory was predeceased by both parents, Jack Ivory and Mrs. Waldean Brewton; his brother, Eddie Brewton and his wife of 44 years, Mrs. Masako Ivory. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Willa M. Ivory; children, Tami Ivory (Shari), Rick Ivory, Joseph Ivory, Ms. Cynthia Ivory, Ms. Amy Ivory (Rodney) and Ms. Naomi Ivory (Frank); 18 grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Ms. Janice Brewton and Ms. Vernetta Johnson; sister-in-law, Mrs. Setsuko Yamomoto; a number of other relatives, friends and the people he knew during his Military and Civil Service careers. Mr. Ivory will rest in the mortuary for visitation THURSDAY from 5PM until 8PM (where the family will receive friends at 5PM) and in the church FRIDAY from 9AM until the hour of service. Interment will be in Jacksonville National Cemetery (http://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/jacksonville.asp).
