GREELISH Mr. Stephen L. Greelish, 82, passed away on October 9, 2012. Born November 29, 1929 to Mr. & Mrs. Roy S. Greelish at the old St. Luke's Hospital, Steve lived and worked in Jacksonville, FL nearly his entire life. He attended John Gorrie Jr. High and Robert E. Lee Sr. High Schools. At 17, he joined the USN-R (1946-48) and was stationed at Jacksonville NAS. He went on to serve during the Korean War in the USAF (1949-52) with the 20th AF Squadron at Kadena AFB, Okinawa. Throughout the remaining 1950s and 1960s, his work with 'Greelish Company' included such Jacksonville landmarks as; the City Hall and Jail, Veterans Memorial Coliseum, original Friendship Fountain, the Florida Times-Union and Seaboard Coastline (CSX) buildings, and the Gulf Life Tower. He was also involved with multiple construction projects at Patrick AFB, Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center, and Walt Disney World. Steve Greelish was truly the quintessential Floridian. He is survived by his children, Michael, Mande (Satterfield), Keith and David Greelish; his sister, Beverly Greelish, niece Susan (Arnold) and nephew Harold Jenkins; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
