Obituary Condolences

CURINGTON William Ross Curington, 90, born April 4, 1923 in Coleman, Florida and a life-long resident of Jacksonville, died peacefully on April 22, 2013, following a brief illness. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. A U.S. navy veteran, he served on LST 699 in the Pacific during World War II and reenlisted in the naval reserve air fleet operating in the Mediterranean during the Korean War. After his military service, Ross owned and operated a distributorship with Sealtest Foods until his retirement in 1987. Since then, he remained active and traveled extensively with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Diane Cobb Curington. Survivors include their son, Timothy Ross Curington (Wanda), their daughter, Barbara Curington Kirby (Tom); 3 grandsons, Ross Curington (Kristen), Scott Curington (Marianne), and Adam Jennings (Tyler); a granddaughter, Diana Zacher (Scott); 4 great grandchildren, Addison, Brooklynn, Gavin, and Harper; all of Jacksonville; and good neighbors and friends. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 27, Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. The family will receive guests immediately following the service. Gifts may be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida. Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com
