The couple celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary last march. After World War II Yvette and John lived in Boston, Massachusetts while he was attending Harvard University and she was employed at a local hospital, after which they moved back to Jacksonville where she worked as a secretary for a local investment firm and later as the bookkeeper for the couple's camera store business. Though they traveled extensively after selling their business, Jacksonville remained their home for the rest of their lives.
