BILLAU Alvin "Pete" R. Alvin "Pete" R. Billau, 82, of Temperance, MI, died Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in his home. Born February 24, 1930, in Monroe, MI, he was the son of Roy and Dorothy (Watson) Billau. A US Army veteran of the Korean War, he married Nelda J. Heiden on May 1, 1954. She preceded him in death on June 28, 2010. Pete was a crane operator for Bentley and Sons Construction for 25 years. He enjoyed gardening and square dancing. He is survived by his loving children, Debra J. Billau, Alvin R.W. (Beckie) Billau and Allen L.R. (Linda) Billau; sisters, Naomi Bowlin and Linda (Frank) Bowlin; grandchildren, Amber, Troy, Roy and Shannon Billau and Tracy (Timothy) Stevens; great-grandchildren, James, Dustin, Timothy, Savanna, JasLynn and Tabitha. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Norma Appleman. Visitation will be from 3:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Frank Paine, officiating. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
