Arthur J. "Art"

Arthur J. "Art" Apostle, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 12, 2014. He was born on April 5, 1936, to James and Pearl (Kinkaid) Apostle.

Art served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and was very proud of his service to his country. He worked for 30 years as a mason brick layer and also worked for Jeep for 11 years as a millwright, retiring in 1998.

Art was a very special man with a heart of gold, who

we believed never met a stranger. Art enjoyed playing cards with family and friends; watching The Ohio State Buckeyes football as well as documentaries on television. He also enjoyed his occasional trips to the casinos.

On January 7, 1977 he married his true love and soul mate, Shirley (Baughman) whom he cherished more than life itself.

Besides Shirley he leaves behind his loving daughters, Patti (Lee) Stroll and Diane (Bud) Farkas; grandchildren, Jilian, Jimmy, Ryan, Chelsea, Nicholas and Cassidy; 11 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bob and Bernice Baughman; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeff Apostle.

The family will receive guests on Saturday, January 18, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with a Memorial Service beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
