Benjamin Edward "Benny"

Ben Huerta, 43, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away at Hill Country Memorial Hospital in Fredericksburg, Texas on July 27, 2014, after a brief illness.

Ben was born in Houston, Texas on May 25, 1971. He is survived by his wife, Angela Keith; stepchildren, Alissa and Jeremy; parents, Jesse and Esther Huerta; grandfather, Alvino Mancha; siblings, Liza, Chris (D'nan), Louie (Nicole), Sylvia (Rick), Daniel, David, Pat (Tamara), Paul (Sherri), and Melissa; 10 nieces and nephews; 2 great-nieces; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Benny was a wrestler at Waite High School. He made his family proud, especially his mom and dad, when he joined the United States Marine Corps. He proudly served as a Lance Corporal, during Desert Storm, from 1990-94. He was currently employed as a security guard for the State Hospital in Kerrville, Texas. Until just a few weeks ago, he was telling his wife and family he had to get better to go back to work, because the guys need him. Benny loved singing karaoke, fishing, playing and watching sports. Ben was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Cleveland Indians. He looked forward to family gatherings; as there were always tons of stories to share. Benny always said "he was born in Texas, but raised a Buckeye". Benny was a great son, husband, brother, grandson, uncle, friend and co-worker. He was loved dearly, and will be missed.
