Carolyn Mamie

Carolyn Mamie Markoff, "Baubi" to so many, died Friday, June 14, 2013, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was 89. A longtime Fostoria resident, she was the widow of Jack Markoff, who passed away in 1994.

Carolyn was born in Toledo on January 10, 1924, to Myer and Wetel (Worshtil) Shiff. She met her husband to be, Jack Markoff while attending The Ohio State University. She was a longtime member of the Congregation Etz Chayim, and was involved in the B'nai Brith, as well as the Fostoria Redmen Club. Carolyn was an avid fan of the Ohio State University and faithfully attended her children and grandchildren's activities. She was a strong believer in PMA, Positive Mental Attitude.

Surviving are her children, Richard (Beverly) Markoff, Indianapolis, IN, Gary (Ellen) Markoff, Carmel, IN and Patricia (John) LoScudo, Toledo; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Yetta Wernick, Fostoria, OH; brother, Harry 'Abe' (Betty) Shiff, Fostoria, OH and sister-in-law, Esther Shiff, Fostoria, OH. Carolyn was preceded in death by her son, Ronald David Markoff.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2013, in the Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd. Toledo, OH (419-535-5840). Interment will be at Beth Shalom Cemetery,

Oregon, OH.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the Toledo Area Humane Society or the Congregation Etz Chayim, and the Fostoria City Hospital Oncology Unit.
