David J. Matuszak, age 67, of Toledo passed away May 6, 2014, at home after a lengthy illness. David was born February 2, 1947, in Toledo. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he married the love of his life, Mary Kathleen Schuldt August 1, 1970, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and together they raised three children. David worked for American Golf for over 25 years until retiring from Ottawa Park in 2009. He was a hardworking man who loved golf and fishing.
Surviving are his loving children, Elizabeth (Kevin) Zimmerman and James Matuszak and two grandchildren, Noah and Hunter Zimmerman, who he adored. Also surviving are his sister Sharon (Dennis) Sullivan; his brother, Thomas (Harriet) Matuszak; niece, Stacie Cook, and nephew, and Dennis Sullivan. Preceding him in death were his mother, Sally Foster; his wife, Mary and his son, Matthew.
Friends may call Friday, May 9, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. in the Urbanski Funeral Home, 5055 Secor Road, Toledo, OH (419) 475-5055. Funeral services will begin Saturday, May 10, at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home with the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Regina Coeli Catholic Church.
