Derek B. Bradley, age 40, passed away Wednesday,
December 4, 2013. He was born November 28, 1973, to Gregory and Mary Lynn Bradley in Toledo, Ohio. Derek worked as an Ironworker (Local 55), one of his projects he was most proud of was the construction of the Veterans Glass City Skyway bridge. Derek loved the sport of hockey and began skating at the age of two. He played travel hockey for the Junior Goaldiggers and was All City four years at Central Catholic High School, all his years being coached by his dad. Derek joined the U.S. Navy in 1993, where he was stationed on the USS Abraham Lincoln and served two tours of duty in the Persian Gulf War. Derek was a
devoted, loving husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was excited about recently getting his sons on the ice for the first time.
He is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Heather (Badyna) Bradley; mother, Mary Lynn (Schenck) Bradley; father-in-law, Dan Badyna; mother-in-law, Christina Magellan; children, Colleen, Derek and Dylan. Also surviving are his sisters, Tracy Gregory and Heather (Mike) Muszynski; brother-in-law, Josh (Erica) Badyna; nieces, Traci and Morganne, and nephew, Anthony. Derek was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Bradley, and grandparents, Don and Dorothy Schenck.
Family and friends may call from 10:30 a.m. until funeral services begin at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013, at the Urbanski Funeral Home, 5055 Secor Road, (north of Laskey), (419) 475-5055. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
