Donald W. Sr.

Donald W. Allamong Sr., 80, of Maumee, and a former resident of Ottawa Lake, MI passed away Friday, August 29, 2014, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. Don was employed for many years with L.A. Bexten of Ottawa Lake before retiring in 1997. He was proud to have served with the United States Army during the Korean War. Don was a member of the American Legion and former member of the Ottawa Lake Sportsman's Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved landscaping and working in his yard, and in his later years, loved to travel.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marilyn; daughters, Dyan (Brian) Clement and Debra (Lewis Mason) Allamong; son, Donald Allamong Jr. D.C.; grandchildren, Ryan, A.J., MaKayla and Hanna; great-grandson, Alex, and sister, Thelma Kaye. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores and brother, Harold.

Don's life will be celebrated at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, with a memorial service Saturday, September 6, at 11 a.m. where family and friends are invited to gather one-hour prior. A military ceremony will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery. Those wishing to offer memorials, in lieu of flowers, are asked to consider Heroes In Action Military Support Outreach.
