Donald Dragon Obituary


Donald Dragon, age 82, of Toledo, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Heartland of Perrysburg. He was born on December 25, 1931, in Toledo, OH to Harry and Frances Dragon. Donald was employed as a truck driver for Toledo Edison for over 30 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the American Legion Argonne Post 545 where he enjoyed playing dart ball with his friends. He was an avid fisherman who always looked forward to the annual Maumee River Walleye Run, and a big fan of OSU football. A skilled gardener, he enjoyed tending his vegetable garden as well as his peach, plum, cherry and apricot trees. Donald also played the accordion, and loved listening to Polish music and going to Polish festivals. He was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn (Mizejewski) Dragon; daughter, Amy (Brian) Good of Pemberville, OH; sons, Benjamin (Richarda) Dragon of Elmore, OH and David Dragon of Waterville, OH; son-in-law, Daniel Toska; and grandchildren, Lydia and Sarah Toska, and Cole, Devin and Elijah Good. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Audrey Toska; sister, Virginia Ranson and brother, Chester Dragon.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in St. Adalbert Church at 11 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
