Edward J. "Ed"
Edward J. "Ed" Naufel, 78, of Sandusky, died December 21, 2013, at his residence. He was born March 17, 1935, in Sandusky. Ed was a member of the IBEW Local Union 867, and had worked at Cedar Point for 29 years. His memberships also included St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Booster Club, where he was a past president and board member. In 2009, he was inducted into the SMCC Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Lucille "Lucy" Kramer; five sons, Mitch (Mary) Naufel of Toledo, Mike (Deidre) Naufel of Fremont, Matt (Nancy) Naufel of Naples, FL, Mark Naufel of Sandusky and Marty Naufel of Oregon, OH; ten grandchildren; one sister, Beverly (John) Shufflin of Pontiac, MI; one brother-in-law, Jack Conley of Castalia; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alice (Stein) Naufel, and one sister, Alice Conley.
Friends may call Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 3-7 p.m. in the Holy Angels Gymnasium, 428 Tiffin Avenue, Sandusky and on Friday, December 27, 2013m from 9 a.m. until time of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Avenue, Sandusky. The Rev. Joseph Steinbauer will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice Service, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky or the Cancer Services, 505 E. Perkins Avenue, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
