Elnore Jean Groll, 88, of Oregon, Ohio passed away November 21, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born in Fayette, Ohio on July 22, 1925, to Stanley and Genevieve (Cook) Kinkaid. On July 13, 1947, she married Gene Robert Groll.
Elnore graduated from Fayette High School and worked at the Downtown Lion's Store until she met her love of her life at the Trianon Dance Hall. She was the chief's wife and volunteered her time at the Fire Hall, with the Flameyettes, The Red Cross, The Blood Mobile, VFW Post, First St John Lutheran Church Member, and was an active den mother. Elnore and her husband traveled all 48 states together and every casino in between. She could name all presidents in order, vice presidents, and all their wives. She participated on bowling teams and card clubs. Elnore loved to travel, crochet, and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her children, Robert (Cathy), Deborah (Al) DePaolo, Michael (Violet Gaddis), Jeff (Teresa), and Sue (Bruce) Seibert; grandchildren, Rob, Jackie, Will, Tiffany, Jake, Kelly, Rex, Jack, Katy, and Laura; great- grandchildren, Bo, Abby, Zach, Maranda, and James; brothers, John Kinkaid and Max (Helen) Kinkaid. Elnore was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Groll; parents; sister, Judy Shull, sister-in-law, Sharon Kinkaid, and brother, Richard Kinkaid.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday from 1-7 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Elnore's memory can be made to First St. John Lutheran Church.
