Frank B. Tifft, 87, of

Sylvania Township, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2013, at the Regency Hospital of Sylvania, OH.

He was born October 5, 1925, in Toledo, OH, to Elmer and Beatrice (Slack) Tifft Sr. Frank served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army/Air Force as a

radio operator and gunner, where he also earned a Bronze Star.

He married his sweet heart Joan L. McIntyre, April 10, 1948; together they shared 49 years of marriage until her death in 1997.

Frank was employed as a die cast technician at Doehler-Jarvis for 45 years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life in his backyard swimming, relaxing in his swing, grilling out and playing with his dogs. Frank had a real knack for fixing and repairing things around the house and enjoyed snacking on all kinds of cookies.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Kathe (David) Michaelson, Sue (Todd) Thomas and Joni (Rick) Prettyman; sons, James (Karen) and Brian Tifft; grandchildren, Matthew (Jill), Andrew (Katie), Cayl (Bonnie), Kevin, Brittany and Nicole; three great-grandchildren; sister, Margery Harrison, and brother, Elmer Tifft Jr. Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; parents; sister, Eleanor Spencer, and brother, Albert Tifft Sr.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Thursday, August 22, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. when the Funeral Service begins. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
