Gary F. Speelman, age 69, of Toledo passed away Wednesday March 27, 2013 in Daytona Beach, FL. He was born in Morenci, MI on August 16, 1943 to Jonas A. and Hilda (Barber) Speelman. Gary's entire professional career was spent as a Tool and Die maker. He was employed by Teledyne Manufacturing for 25 years and more recently by Riehle Manufacturing. Gary enjoyed turkey and goose hunting, fishing, camping, cooking, and spending the winters in Florida. He was a 25 year member of the Ottawa River Yacht Club where he had previously served as the entertainment chairman. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Loyal Order of Moose.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Jonas and Hilda; and brothers, David W. and Frederick L Speelman He is survived by his wife and best friend, Martie E. (Momma) Speelman of 17 years; children, Daniel L. (Judy) Myers of Allegan, MI, Dawn C. (Willie) Gutting of Hudson, MI, Tamara S. Nevers of Toledo, OH, Michael J. Dolt of Louisville, KY and Thomas C (Jenny) Dolt of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren, Amanda (Rusty) Thompson, Stephanie (Matt) Halleck, Danielle Drzewiecki, Cory A. Dolt, Jascenia Dolt, Thomas M. Dolt, Jamie Myers, Ashley Myers and Ryan Myers; great-grandchildren, Rusty L. Thompson Jr., Rowen M. Thompson, Chase Myers, Katelyn Myers, Brooklyn Myers and Baby Halleck due in November; sister, Julia M. Bachi of Adrian, MI; and nieces and nephews. Also surviving is his special friend - his Cocker Spaniel named Polly. She was his perfect little girl.

Family and friends may visit on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., where members of the Ottawa River Yacht Club will lead a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. The Funeral Service will begin on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Larry Vriezlaar presiding. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
