BAER James Riley James R. Baer, 68, passed away on June 15, 2012, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born in Monroe Michigan on April 18, 1944. Jim served his country honorably in the United States Army as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Prior to his retirement in 2003, he was employed at General Motors/Power Train for 35 years as a machine repairman. He was a proud union member of UAW Local 14, where he served as a committee man for 15 years. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Deaner; children, P.J. (Joe) Lawniczak of Toledo, Laurey Ann (Andrea "Drea" Nowacki) Baer of Toledo, and Bradley James (Melissa) Baer of Adrian, MI; grandchildren, Jacob Riley and Chase Edmond Lawniczak and Colbie Leigh Baer; brother, John (Lois) Baer of Montpelier, OH; aunt, Aldine Sarkisian of Toledo; sister-in-law, Mary Lynn Bradley of Ottawa Lake, MI; best friends, Dean and Nancy Redfield of Temperance, MI, and several nieces and nephews. Jim's family wishes to extend special thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg for all of their care and support. Friends are invited to visit from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012, in the Ansberg-West Funeral Home, 3000 Sylvania Ave. Interment will be private.
