Jeffrey P. Kroll of Northwood, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 21, 2013. Jeff who was the loving son of Virginia (Walczak) and Harry Kroll was born on December 25, 1948. He was preceded in death by his parents. After graduating from Woodward High School in 1967 he began working at Jeep. He would be employed there for more than 38 years, retiring in October 2005. Jeff liked working in the body shop. Because of his liking for airplanes, he enlisted in the Air Force in January 1968. His service included a year overseas at Korat, Thailand. He also enjoyed his assignment at Wright Patterson Air Force base in Dayton, Ohio. He was honorably discharged in 1972 as a sergeant. Jeff also served at a radar base at Port Austin which is located at the top of Michigan's thumb. For that reason he enjoyed vacationing on beautiful Saginaw Bay. Because of his Christmas birthday he always looked forward to sending cards to his many relatives and friends. On an almost weekly basis, Jeff could be found on Sundays at the Cracker Barrel in Monroe, MI enjoying his favorite meal of rainbow trout.
My brother had many outstanding traits but one that stands out was his generosity to others. One could always count on being remembered with a thoughtful card and gift at special times of the year. He was raised to do for others. Jeff was a member of St. Jerome Parish in Walbridge, OH. He lived and died with Christ. Jeff's unending kindness will be greatly missed by his brother, Denis and his special aunt, Mrs. Jean Kaczmarek of Toledo. Also surviving Jeff is his uncle, Leonard Kroll.
Visitation will begin on Thursday, January 24, 2013, in the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit Street, (419.726.1583) from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the Funeral Home with a prayer service Friday, January 25, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. before continuing to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial with Fr.
