Dr. Jerome Alan

Jerry Lechlak, 54, passed away after a long term battle with cancer, on Friday, May 9, 2014, early in the morning, with his family by his side at Ebeid ProMedica Hospice Center.

He was born to Daniel and Carol Lechlak on October 4, 1959, in Toledo, OH. Jerry graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1977. In 1985, he married Catherine "Cathy" Marsell, in Toledo, OH. He was a fanatically proud alumni of The Ohio State University, class of 1984, where he earned his D.D.S. Jerry then continued his studies at St. Louis University where he became board certified in Orthodontics.

Jerry was a passionate craftsman, rock climber, motorcyclist and an outstanding coach. He spent time coaching teams for all three of his children, including soccer, basketball, and baseball. Jerry also enjoyed being a part of his men's basketball league, where many strong friendships were formed. He was a proud member of the Toledo Dental Society, the American Dental Association, and the American Orthodontic Association.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Cathy; his daughters, Melissa and Michelle; his son, Andy (Elizabeth); his mother, Carol; his sisters, Cindy (Tony) and Julie (Tom); his brothers, Dennis (Colleen), Scott, and Tom (Stephanie). He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel.

Visitation will be held at Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania, OH on Tuesday, May 13, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 14, at Christ the King Church at 10 a.m. The family has requested that all who attend the funeral service dress in OSU's scarlet and gray colors in Jerry's honor.
