PALAZZOLO

Jerome J. "Mr. P"

Jerome J. Palazzolo, 87, of Temperance, MI passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Lake Park surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 30, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan to Samuel and Ida (Bommarito) Palazzolo. Jerome graduated from Denby High School, Detroit in 1944, and attended Michigan State University, Walsh Institute in Lansing, while serving as an Airman in the U.S. Army Corps.

On June 11, 1949, he married the love of his life Beverly (Smith) at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Harper Woods, MI. They spent 65 wonderful years dedicated to one another.

Jerome was a Supervisor of the Stress Lab at Teledyne Continental Aviation Engineering for 30 years. In 1971, he transferred with Teledyne to Toledo, where he walked to work every day, rain or shine. He also took up art classes shortly after moving to Toledo and became an

accomplished artist. His art was proudly displayed at art shows in Toledo. He created many beautiful oil paintings, which grace his home and those of his children and grandchildren. Jerome was very proud of his Italian heritage, speaking often of his Italian roots. He took his family on many summer vacations 'up north' to several different lakes for family fishing and camping, as well as cross-country road trips. After retiring in 1987, he enjoyed golfing and traveling. For the last 20 years, he and Beverly spent their winters as "snowbirds" in Ft. Myers, Florida.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Beverly; children, Tom (Sheila) of

Mechanicsville, VA; Steve of Maumee, OH; Alan (Esther) of College Station, TX; Jerome (Marilyn), Temperance, MI and Marianne (Jim) Molnar, Petersburg, MI. He

is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to

extend special thanks to Jerome's son-in-law, Jim Molnar, who was a constant companion during his final weeks. Thanks also for the TLC provided by Lake Park Comfort Care nursing staff and the ProMedica Hospice staff for their compassionate care.
