Karen Moore Cox, 59, passed away March 27, 2014, at The Toledo Hospital. Born in Toledo, she was a graduate of Scott High School. Her parents were Eddie Powell and Dorothy Murchison. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church and was employed at Libbey Glass, American Axel and General Motors. She was a minister of music, songstress, caterer, stylist, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
She leaves to mourn, mother, Dorothy Murchison; three children, Wilese (Glenn) Stanley, Kathy (Nick) Bullock, Ira (Maria) Savage; sisters, Linda Powell, Pat Buckson; brothers, Mark Elliot and Jimmy Murchison; grandchildren, Wilesha, Kharmein, Tori and Devon; nephew, Damion; nieces, Verlana and Davae Powell; ex-husband, Steve Cox, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday 5-8 p.m. Dale-Riggs Funeral Home Chapel, wake services will be Friday, 11 a.m. followed by funeral services at 12 noon Warren A.M.E. Church, Rev. Dr. Otis Gordon officiant, interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
