Kenneth "Ken" E.
Kenneth "Ken" E. Donbrosky, 76, of Petersburg, MI, died Thursday, January 3, 2013, in his home. Born, November 22, 1936, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Norman and Marguerite (Richards) Donbrosky. Ken attended Bedford High School and then joined the US Air Force for 12 years, serving during the Vietnam War. Ken received the Medal of Valor from the US Air Force for saving 2 lives in 1959. He married Mary Ann Skomal on June 1, 1957, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was employed as a boilermaker for American Shipbuilding in Toledo for 15 years, retiring in 1994. Ken was a member of Shelton Park Church of God in Temperance, Amvets, American Legion, and VFW Post 1584 in Adrian, MI. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood working and just being outdoors riding his four wheeler.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Ann; beloved daughters, Sherri (Bud) Billings, Sandy (Wayne) Dibert and Christine (Ken Guess) Donbrosky; brother, George (Jeanette) Donbrosky; sisters, Margo Poland, Marlene (Jim) Reno, Marcia (Skip) Swearingen and Marsha McGowan; grandchildren, Steven (Hope) Billings, Jeremy (Jeni) Dibert and Jennifer (Chad) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Cody, Liam, Makenzie, Ellie, Luke, Aiden, Esme, Riley and Austin. Ken was preceded in death by his daughter, Caroline Donbrosky; parents; 2 brothers, Norman and Ronald Donbrosky, and sister, Marilyn Donbrosky.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Shelton Park Church of God, 8702 Douglas Rd., Temperance, MI, where he will lie in state after 10 a.m. Pastor Scott Isham, officiating. Interment will follow at Whiteford Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church.
