Rev. Lawrence N.

Rev. Lawrence N. Henry received his wings at the age of 64, April 20, 2014 at Veteran's Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Rev. Henry was born in Nashville, TN on January 28, 1950. He moved to Toledo, OH in 1955 and remained a resident for many years. He was married to Darcel D. Henry for 32 years. He attended Owen's Technical College, Stautzenberger College and the University of Maryland earning an Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was an Electronic Monitoring Supervisor for the Correctional Center of Northwest Ohio from 1991 to 2005. He was an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Vietnam War. Rev. Henry was also a graduate of the American Baptist Theological Seminary and was ordained to preach the Gospel in 1985. Rev. Henry was the former pastor of Inspirational Baptist Church and retired pastor of Morningstar Baptist Church serving from 1999 to 2013. He was a member of the Baptist Ministers Conference of Toledo and Vicinity.

Rev. Henry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Darcel D. Henry; father, Hobert N. Henry and sister, Shirley Woods. He leaves to cherish many beautiful memories Mother Virgie Henry, daughters Demitria (Chris) Jefferson, Quineshia Henry, Dyschell Henry and Natreze Henry, grandchildren Dawnique Henry, Jaschell Phillips, Samarius Taylor, Quinntin Henry, Demitrius Jefferson and kailiegh Jefferson, two sisters Thelma (Bishop Duane) Tisdale, Deborah (Butch) Barnes, brother Hobert G. (Andre'nita) Henry and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday 3 - 5 p.m. followed by a Memorial Musical at 6:00 p.m. wake services will be Saturday 10:00 a.m. with funeral services at 11:00 a.m. all from the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Pastor J.L. Jordan eulogist, Rev. Phillip Battles officiant, interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements by the Dale-Riggs Funeral Home.
