Lawrence J. "Larry"

Lawrence J. "Larry" Urbanowicz, 70, of Lachine, MI, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died suddenly on June 27, at University of Michigan Medical Center.

Larry was a graduate of Macomber High School, Toledo, Ohio. After trade school, he worked for Jeep Corp. and joined the Air National Guard.

Larry became a civilian technician for the 180th TFG in the motor pool and in 1979, married Sidney Goodburne and moved her and her son, Bob, to Delta, Ohio. After retirement Larry and Sidney moved to the Alpena, Michigan area.

An avid hunter and fisherman, Larry enjoyed yearly trips to Wyoming and Canada. He was a member of the Moose, and he was a devoted Catholic.

He is survived by his wife, Sidney; son, Bob Elder of California; sister, Sue (John) Poholski of Troy, MI; nieces, Nancy, Pam, Carol; aunt, Lucy and uncle, Hank, of Florida, and numerous cousins, hunting and fishing companions, and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 10 a.m. at St Mary's Catholic Church with a memorial and reception to follow at 12 noon at Trinity Episcopal Church. Inurnment will be at Trinity Episcopal Church. Memorial contributions can be made in Larry's name to St Mary's Catholic Church, Trinity Episcopal Church or The . Online condolences at
