Leona F.

Leona F. Restorick, age 93, a dedicated loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Gaslite Villa in Canal Fulton, Ohio. She was born on June 19, 1919, in Dennison, Ohio to the late Charles and Lockie (Miller) Prysi. However, she spent most of her youth growing up on the family farm in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Prysi Boulevard was named for the location where the family farm stood. She also lived in Newark and Columbus, Ohio. Leona was a 1938 graduate of Newark High School and the Columbus Beauty College. While in college, she worked at Curtis Wright in Columbus and later worked at the Aluminum Company in Newark, Ohio. She then took an adventure and moved to Los Angeles, CA. She worked for the Los Angeles Law Library. During World War II, she worked at Lockheed Air. She and her high school sweetheart, Earl maintained a relationship through letter writing and they were married in Boise, Idaho on February 1, 1943. Following the war, they resided in Newark and started their family. In 1956, the family relocated to Toledo for Earl's work at Owens Corning Fiberglass. While there, she was an instructor at the Toledo Academy of Beauty Culture. She also enjoyed volunteer work at the Medical College of Ohio and for many years worked at the polls as a judge for the Lucas County Board of Elections. As her family grew, she served as a Cub Scout den mother, she served with her husband as officers for the Libbey High School band parents and she was an officer for Toledo University's Phi Kappa Psi Mothers Club. Her other social memberships included River Road Garden Club, where she was a Past President, River Road Bridge Club for 50 years, Red Hat Society, Bunko Club, Birthday Club, 55 Club, Silver Supper Club, Samagama of Presidents and the Golden Forum. Along with her husband, she was a member of the 94th Bomber Group Association and the Maumee Elks Club. She and her husband Earl travelled to Ft. Myers, FL. with a large group of friends for many years. She was a naturally sociable, friendly person and enjoyed frequent travel, dancing and bowling.

Along with her parents, Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. Restorick, and her sisters, Ester and Margaret. She is survived by her eldest son, William (Aline) Restorick of Canton; their children, Will (Jenn) Restorick, Jr., and their children, Brendan, McKenzie, Bradley and Kyrsten Restorick of Canal Winchester, Ohio; Chris (Kara) Restorick and their children, Riley, Elliot, Mitchell and Quinn Restorick of Canton, Ohio, Bryan (fiancée, Heidi Parry) Restorick of Portage Lakes, Ohio, and her youngest son, John (Barb) Restorick and their daughters, Rachel and Conner Restorick, all of Sylvania OH.

A private gathering was held at the Paquelet Funeral Home for immediate family on April 12, 2013, with Pastor David Tebbs officiating. In keeping, with her wishes, a memorial service will be held at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 South Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio on May 18, 2013, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with burial following the service alongside her husband at Riverside Cemetery in Maumee, Ohio.
