Lowell Sebring Obituary

Lowell W. "Lud"

Lowell "Lud" Sebring, age 74, of Toledo passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Kingston Care Center surrounded by his family. He was born June 25, 1938, in Toledo to Lyle and Persis (Wagner) Sebring. A 1956 graduate of Macomber High School, he was also a proud Eagle Scout. He served 6 years as a US Army Reservist. As a mechanical engineer supervisor for Owens Corning Fiberglas, he specialized in drafting where he held several patents. An active Whitmer High School supporter, he was a band and athletic booster. Lud collected scale models of John Deere tractors, loved cars and was a fan of Corvettes, '57 Chevy's, the Detroit Tigers and the University of Michigan. He also enjoyed the menus at Tony Packos and Inky's Pizza. Lud loved people and loved to talk to them about his family; he never met a stranger and was the best dad ever. He will always be remembered for his kind and generous spirit.

Lud's greatest joy was his family; his wife of 53 years, Judy whom he married August 22, 1959; his 5 daughters, Jodi (Nick) Caryer, Debbie Sebring, Christy (Andy) Schober, Holly (Seth) Ruggles and Tammy (Travis) Rasor; and his 9 (soon to be 10) grandchildren, Alison, Anna and Cade Schober, Luke, Emily and Grant Rasor, Mason, Abby and Landon Caryer and Baby Ruggles (due March 28).

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 1-9 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey). Visitation will continue after 10 a.m. Wednesday at Epworth United Methodist Church 3077 Valleyview Dr. Toledo where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials to Noah's House 1525 Eber Rd. Holland, Ohio 43528, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 River Rd. Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 or Epworth United Methodist Church.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Kingston in Sylvania, Hospice of Northwest Ohio and their many family and friends for their support during Lud's illness. Condolences to the family may be sent to
