Margaret Y. 12/14/1917 - 1/14/2014

Margaret Y. (Boynton) Davies, age 96. Beloved wife of the late Edward B. Davies; loving mother of Ellen (James) Daniels; dear sister of the late Grace (the late Stanley) Howell and the late Robert J. (the late Joan) Boynton. Survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Margaret died on January 14, 2014, at Arden Courts Alzheimer's Assisted Living Facility in South Holland, IL, her home for the final four years of her life.

She was born on December 14, 1917, in Syracuse, NY to parents, the late Herbert and the late Ellen (Sutton) Boynton. Margaret grew up in Toledo and graduated from Scott High School in 1936. After secretarial school, she worked as an Administrative Assistant at The Ohio Citizens Trust Co., where she met Ed Davies, The Alumni Office at Michigan State University, and Toledo Clinic.

Member of Epworth United Methodist Church, formerly in its Chancel Choir, and United Methodist Women. 50-year member and three-time Past President of Ohio Chapter AL of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. Past President of Samagama. Founding President of the "Nursery to University" Circle of the Ohio Child Conservation League. Member of Monday Musicale. Long-time literacy tutor. Former Girl Scout leader at DeVeaux Elementary School.

Memorial Service on Sunday, June 8, 2014, 2:30 p.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, 4855 W. Central Avenue at Valleyview Drive in Ottawa Hills.
