Mary K. Eagan, 73, passed into the arms of angels on Sunday, October 6, 2013. Mary was born on November 17, 1939, to Daniel and Kathryn Maloney of Toledo. Mary graduated from Mary Manse College and continued her academic pursuit with a Masters Degree in social work from her beloved University of Michigan.
Mary's professional career began with the Lucas County Welfare Department and she continued her service as Deputy Regional Director of Juvenile Parole where she retired after 28 years of dedicated service. After retirement, Mary pursued her passion of gardening, obtaining Master Gardener Status from Ohio State University. Mary was an avid animal lover and advocate. She was a well accomplished agility trainer and competed and won many titles with her beloved Sooty.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Victoria Kathryn Smith, and great-granddaughter, Ursula Kathryn Gilsdorf. Mary is survived by her daughters, Kathryn King Gildorf (Robert), and Maria Louise Bojarski (Brad), Patrick F. Eagan; grandchildren, Kathryn Maria Gilsdorf, Cpt. Lief Daniel Gilsdorf (Lindie), Jonmorgan Daniel Smith, and Danielle Maria Smith.
In honoring Mary's wishes, there will be no visitation. Interment will be private. Those who wish to share in honoring and remembering Mary can send donations to the Cutie Fund, c/o Lucas County Dog Warden, 410 South Erie Street, Toledo, OH 43604.
The family wishes to thank the loving attending staff of The Legacy, Lakes of Monclova. Mary and family also want to send a special "thank you" to Jennifer of Gentiva Odyssey Hospice for her support, love and dedication to Mary's care.
