Melvin Conn, DDS, whose West Toledo dental practice spanned several decades, died Monday, December 16, 2013, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg at the age of 92. The son of Alexander and Charlotte Lane Conn, he was a graduate of Scott High School and received his BS from the University of Toledo marrying the former Ann Rosenbloom, who survives. Melvin enrolled in The Ohio State College of Dentistry, until his enlistment in the US Army during WWII, eventually completing his dental degree as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army Dental Corp with a rank of Major. He belonged to The Temple Congregation Shomer Emunim and was a past board member, the Kiwanis Club, The Toledo Dental Society as its longest standing member and the R.A.C. A master bridge player, he also golfed, played tennis and volunteered in the Russian Community teaching English and reading news to members of the Sight Center. He was
preceded by his parents, and grandson, Eric Conn.
Surviving are his wife, Ann Conn; sons, Jeff (Linda) Conn, Charles (MaryJo) Conn, Fredric (Trish) Conn; daughter, Margo Conn; brothers, Lionel (Hilda) Conn of Scottsdale, AZ, and brother, Stanford Conn of Los Angeles, CA; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
Services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2013, at 1 p.m. in the Robert H. Wick/ Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Rd. Interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
