Michael J. "Beetle", "Santa"

Michael J. Bailey, son of the late Harvey F. and Beverly J. (Grey) passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013. He was a lifelong Point Place resident and a graduate of Woodward High School. He was also a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran, having honorably served during the Viet Nam War. Mike retired in 2006, having 40 years of service with Teamsters Local 20. 30 of those years he was a dock-worker and union steward at Roadway Express-Toledo. He belonged to the Teamster Retirees, still active in many functions. Mike believed in the Four R's, Riding, Racing, Rasslin and Raising Hell with family and friends.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, brothers, Martin and Jeffrey Bailey. His survivors include his wife and best friend, Vicki (Deiley); sons, Michael (Sherri) and Matthew (Tiffany); daughter, Holly Bailey; sister, Bevery Shaffer, Rollins, MI, and grandchildren, Michael, Gabriella "Punkin", Calvin, Jules and Katey.

Visitation will begin in the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home, 5300 N. Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611, (419.726.1583) on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Services will begin in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations made to Northwest Ohio Kidney Foundation, 3100 W. Central Ave., Suite 250, Toledo, OH 43606 in memory of Mike.
