Nellie D. Edwards, 69, passed away July 7, 2014. Born December 4, 1944, in Altheimer, Arkansas to the late Jodie Jackson and the late Rosie Lee Bland-Jackson. She was a devoted member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Toledo, OH. Nellie worked as chief investigator at the Toledo Fair Housing Center until her retirement in 2006, and remained on the Board of Directors until her passing.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 45 years, Willie M. Edwards Sr.; daughters, Jessie D. Walker, Antonia M. (Steve) Ballard, Marilyn D. Redfern-Jernigan, Sonya R. Edwards, Dionise N. (Ron) Barnett; sons, Willie M. (Felicia) Edwards Jr., Erroll G. (Ella) Brewer, Terrance A. Edwards, Darrell S. (Latrice) Walker; daughter-in-faith, Silvia (Thomas) Gary; 31 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Georgia) Jackson; sister, Claudia (John) Edwards; brother-in-law, Ray Harris; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Homegoing Services are Saturday, July 12, 2014, 11 a.m. at Union Grove M.B. Church, preceded by 10 a.m. wake. Visitation is Friday 4-6 p.m. at The House of Day Funeral Services Chapel.
