Robert Clayton Obituary

Robert "Robbie" Clayton

Robert "Robbie" Clayton Smith, 41, of Lambertville, MI, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013, at his home. He was born in Toledo, OH on December 28, 1971, to Rodney N. Smith and Sherry L. (Routhe) Smith. He attended Bedford High School and was previously employed at NSS Enterprises for 16 years. While at NSS, Robbie proudly served as Secretary for UAW Local 12 representing NSS co-workers for 9 years. A few of Robbie's

passions included hunting, fishing, boating, riding ATVs, and building great campfires in Northern Michigan. Along with his mom and dad, he was a diehard Detroit Lions and University of Michigan football fan. He thoroughly enjoyed gardening, was a pro at the grill, and had an extraordinary compassion for animals. Most notably he had a huge heart and deeply loved his dad (his best friend), mom, and sisters. Robbie could lighten up the most solemn situation with his animated stories and would have everyone roaring in laughter. Ultimately, his most rewarding role was becoming "Uncle Robbie" to his beloved nephew and niece.

Robbie is survived by his parents, Rod and Sherry;

sister, Kelly (Patrick) Schenavar; nephew, Reed Schenavar; niece, Elle Schenavar; sister, Kimberly Smith; uncle, Bob (Sharon) Ruth; uncle, Richard Routhe; great-aunt, Mary Crump; many loving cousins, and his beloved dog, Katie "Kay Kay." He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond and Burnadette "Beanie" Korzniewski, Clayton "CJ" and Wanda Smith. In addition, Robbie has a tremendous group of lifelong friends that will cherish all the good times and memories they had with him and are all proud to say they had him as a friend.

Family and friends will be received starting at 2 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2013, at the Michael W. Pawlak

Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd., (at Jackman), Temperance, MI with formal services starting at 7 p.m. Immediately following, friends and family may join together to celebrate Robbie's life at VFW, 4120 Piehl Rd, Lambertville, MI 48144. Memorials may be made to the Monroe County Humane Society.
