Rollen "Rollie" Glen
Rollen "Rollie" Glen Morgan, age 78, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28, 2013, at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, Ohio. He was born to George and Myrtle Morgan in Toledo on December 12, 1934. He was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Rollie married his best friend Mary Lee Christ on May 17, 1969, and together raised two children.
He worked as a Real Estate Appraiser and in banking. He founded Morgan Real Estate Appraisal Service and was active in that field until he retired. Rollie was a longtime member of OLPH church, active in cub scouts and coaching baseball.
He was a proud member and was greatly involved in the Toledo Elks BPOE #53 where he received the "Elk of the Year" award for 1977-1978. His greatest accomplishment was to serve as the Elks Ohio state president (PSP) from 1989-1990. His campaign slogan will forever be remembered as "Rally for Rollie!" Rollie was also Toledo #53 Lodge Exalted Ruler (PER) and was also involved in numerous committees within the Elks that were centered around youth activities, scholarships, and multiple other public relations that helped to benefit others locally, statewide, and nationally. Rollie and Mary Lee regularly attended state and national conventions and built many lifelong relationships within the Elks.
Rollie enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, who lovingly called him "Wowwie". He will be missed for his love, respect and honor for family, life, and the pride he took in serving his country. He wanted to spend his last years at the Ohio Veterans Home, where he was respectfully and kindly cared for. We would like to thank the nurses and staff in the D unit for all their kindness and support.
