Ronald H. Hall, 83, of Temperance, Michigan passed away at the Ebeid Hospice Residence, January 11, 2014. He was born September 13, 1930, at the Ohio Valley General Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia to Earl James and Hazel Velma (Sell) Hall. He graduated from Wheeling High School in 1948. He went on to graduate from West Liberty State College in 1952 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He served in the United States Army as a corporal in the Chemical Corps during the Korean War. Ronald married his loving wife, Kathryn Ehler, in 1955. He furthered his studies at Penn State University, graduating in 1956 with a Masters of Science in Fuel Chemistry. He was an analytical chemist and spectroscopist employed with Vanadium Corporation in Cambridge, Ohio from 1956-1963; the Owen Illinois Research Center from 1963-1987 and the Monarch Analytical Labs from 1987-1997. He was also an adjunct instructor in the University of Toledo Geology Department. He was a member of the American Chemist Society, the Society for Applied Spectroscopy, the American Men of Science, and the American Society Testing Materials. He was also featured in several publications. In his spare time, Ronald enjoyed photography and woodworking, especially creating furniture for his friends and family.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Earl James Hall, Junior. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathryn Hall; daughters, Janet Hall and Dorian Hall (Gregory Myers), and two grandchildren, Alexandra and Samuel.
Friends and family may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main Street, Sylvania, Ohio Wednesday, January 15, 2014, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Reeb Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16, 2014, at 11 a.m. Interment will be private at Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling, West Virginia.
