Sara Jo Harrington, 79, of Findlay, died at the Bridge Hospice Care Center at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014. Sara was born on January 10, 1935, in Leslie, Michigan to the late Van Edward and Esther Louise (Griggs) Aldrich. She was a graduate of Leslie High School and attended the University of Michigan.
Sara married John H. "Jack" Harrington on September 29, 1956, in Troy, Ohio and he preceded her in death on August 5, 2005.
Surviving are five children, John W. (Pamela) Harrington of Findlay, Michael E. (Anne) Harrington of Barrington Hills, Illinois, Thomas H. (Jill) Harrington of Galena, Ohio, Anne A. (Michael) Mallett of Findlay, Susan A. (Donald) Williams of Findlay, Ohio; nine grandchildren, James Harrington, Seattle, WA, Kathleen (Josh) Desmond, Shelby Township, MI, Jacklyn (Jeremy) Hatch, Findlay, OH, Jack Harrington, Barrington Hills, IL, Claire Harrington, Galena, OH, William Harrington, Galena, OH, Alexandria Mallett, Findlay, OH, Van Mallett, Findlay, OH, Olivia Williams, Findlay, OH; six great-grandchildren, Lucas, Zoey, Ellie, and Molly Desmond, Shelby Township, MI, Hayden and Henry Hatch, Findlay, OH. Also surviving are a sister, Judy (Bob) Farley of Littleton, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Margaret Ryan, and Romelle Aldrich both of Findlay, OH; nieces and nephews, Chris Farley Kathy Biddle, Robin Thomas, Steve Collins, Jim Collins, Janet Holt, Maggie Collins and Rob Ryan. Sara was preceded in death by her brother, Michael E. Aldrich; her niece, Kathleen Ryan Schnable; also brothers-in-law, Robert Ryan, Thomas Collins, and sister-in-law, Jean (Harrington) Collins.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.
Visitation will be held at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home on Friday, May 9, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 917 West Main Cross Street, Findlay, Ohio with Fr. Jim Brown officiating. Burial will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.
