RUBIN
Sheldon
The world has suffered the loss of Sheldon Rubin, father, husband, and beloved family man, who died peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, in Sarasota, Florida, after months of struggle with mounting health difficulties. Sheldon was a well-recognized, respected attorney in the City of Toledo and was noted for his intellect and wit. Sheldon always advanced the interests of his clients over his own, and recognized the need to make legal problems simple. He overcame years of financial difficulty, springing up from a poor family who sacrificed much to enable him to enroll in the Toledo University College of Law. He developed a thriving legal practice which impacted the lives of many. Those who knew him recognized his integrity and honesty, and those that understood him appreciated his strength of character. His quiet determination led his family throughout the years to a state of prosperity and growth. In his later years, he extended his life to the city of Delray Beach, Florida, where he left his footprint in the sand, for warm weather and sunshine. Sheldon took pride in many things, including tennis, sporting events, theatre, dining, travel, bridge and repartee, but his greatest source of pride was his family which he dearly loved.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne, and his four children, Brent Rubin (wife Ricki) Daryl Rubin (wife Ellen), Kevin Rubin (wife Debbie), and daughter, Dana Rubin-Mollenkamp (husband Patrick) He has a number of adoring grandchildren, Micah, Carli, Chad, Jesse, Josh, Tynan, Marisa, Daniel, Kasie, Joseph, Zachary, Chelsea and Emily, and great-grandchildren, Dawson, Kylar and Eitan. He will be sorely missed as the patriarch of his family.
Services will be held at the Wick-Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N Reynolds Road, Toledo, on Friday, November 30, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., with graveside services immediately thereafter. Following services, the family will be receiving guests and friends in the home of Patrick and Dana Rubin-Mollenkamp.

Our sympathy to the family. Mr.Rubin was very helpful to us years ago. My husband injured his back; having four back surgeries and was out of work for almost two years. We were a young couple with two small children. He helped my husband get Workmans comp and we never forgot it. That was in 1962 to 1964. We have always been grateful. May God comfort you in your loss. Chuck and Sylvia Witte Toledo.

Sheldon became a baseball picture-collecting nut from learning that I was one. We would trade pictures, too. I left Toledo after Scott High. but thought about Sheldon a lot. Very sorry he "left."
