Thomas J. BRADLEY Obituary
BRADLEY Thomas J. July 15, 1944 ~ October 18, 2010 Thomas J. Bradley, 66, of Monroe, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon surrounded by his family. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Douglas K. Olsen, pastor of the Dundee United Methodist Church will officiate with burial at Rath Cemetery, Monroe. He was born in Monroe to Alice M. (Siering) and Arthur Jay Bradley. He attended Jefferson and Monroe Schools, graduating from Monroe High School in 1962. He married the former Patricia Molenda of Maybee on December 9, 1967. After graduating from the University of Toledo, he began his teaching career at Ida Elementary School. He continued his career in Toledo Public Schools, first at Birmingham School and then, for the majority of his career, at Raymer School. He taught 7th and 8th grade math and boy's physical education later moved to teaching 6th grade. He retired in 1999 after 33 years in education. Tom was very active in retirement. He enjoyed traveling as well as hunting and fishing with family and friends. He looked forward to spending time on his property up north in the woods and annual vacations fishing on Grand Lake near Alpena. He was also an avid reader, following several authors of suspense novels as well as owning every Louis L'Amour title available. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose since 1996. He was a wonderful husband, father and grand father. He enjoyed playing games with his three grandchildren and took them to the movies whenever a new movie came out that they wanted to see. He attended all of their sporting events, school plays and recitals. Tom recently made the statement "I have few dreams that are not fulfilled." He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, James (Jill) Bradley of Monroe and daughter, Rebecca (Timothy) Massingill of Dundee; grandchildren, Jordan and Jenna Bradley of Monroe and Daniel Massingill of Dundee. He is also survived by a half-sister, Elizabeth Stutzman and a sister-in-law, Barbara Bradley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Jay and Alice Bradley; half-brothers, Henry (Bub) Bradley and Art Bradley. Memorials may be made to the Dundee United Methodist Church.
