Thomas "Tom" H.
Thomas "Tom" H. Pollock, 78, of Toledo, passed away surrounded by his loving family on November 2, 2013. Tom was born in Mt. Vernon, Ohio on October 18, 1935, and raised by the Sears family. Married to Shirley (Clark) Pollock, the love of his life, for 57 years.
Tom grew up in Mt. Vernon and graduated from Sparta High School as president of his senior class, then attended the Ohio State University. He was President and Owner of Pollock Painting. His passion for painting and wallpapering continued beyond his retirement years. Tom's desire for learning never diminished. This led to many a fun and interesting conversation. Tom loved to talk and visit his favorite store "The Andersons". Tom was very active in Ft. Industry Chapter, Eastern Stars, and at different times the Masonic Order, and the Zenobia Shrine. He was a creative and talented gardener; his rose bushes and flowers brought delight to many eyes. He was a huge lover of animals, especially dogs! They just knew he was a good guy and an easy mark for a snack.
Tom is survived by his wife, Shirley Pollock; his two children, Larry Pollock and wife Melodee, Terri Kruse and husband Kim (Tony), and two grandchildren, Kenny and Kari Kruse.
Viewing will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with an Eastern Stars Service at 6:30 p.m. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m., Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd). Please join the family and share your "Tom stories".
