Timothy F. "Papa Doo"
Timothy F. McGinnis, 62, passed into the Glory of God this 6th day of June, 2014. He was born in Toledo to Georgian Behner and William McGinnis on October 8, 1951. Tim was employed by General Motors for over 30 years, first as a forklift operator, then as their Employee Assistance Coordinator. Upon his retirement from GM, he quickly became employed at Workplace Resources and Behavior Connections as a drug and alcohol counselor.
Tim is survived by his mother, Georgian Phares; wife, Carol, and daughters, Erin (Tom) McGinnis, Candace "Kelly" (Terry) Marshall, and Tara McHenry. He is also survived by his brother, Bill (Katrina) and sister, Janet. He is loved by his grandchildren, Brayden, Seasidh, Sage, Blake and Myley. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by his many friends and faithful companion, Max.
Tim was an avid runner and bicycle enthusiast. He loved camping in his RV and riding his motorcycle. Tim devoted his time to helping others find recovery from drugs and alcohol. He enjoyed running the soundboard at church. Tim touched the lives of many people. He will be missed.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, June 10, from 2-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Nate Elarton presiding. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery.
