Tony E. Murria, 59, of Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 3, 2014, in his home.
He was born on May 8, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Luther Murria and the late Ethel Lee (Perry) Kynard.
Tony entered the U.S. Marine Corps in 1972, as a lightweight small arms technologies specialist. After serving a six year term, he was honorably discharged in February of 1978.
In 1980, Tony moved to Sandusky. He married Mary Johnson and had two children, Reo L. (Kynard) Murria and Christina L. Murria. Tony worked many different jobs, most recently at Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky.
Left to cherish his memory are his son, Reo (Chequetta) Murria; daughter, Christina L. Murria; grandchildren, Nasjier, Nasira, and Elijah Murria; sisters, Linda (Roscoe) Gilmore, and Kimberly Kynard; mother-in-law, Claudia Cunningham; five nieces, four nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins; lifelong friends, Sonny and Steve, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Denise Murria; brother, Luther Murria Jr.; granddaughter, Nysaja Murria; and father-in-law, Charlie Johnson.
Friends may call on Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 1 p.m. until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. in the Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Rev. Roscoe Gilmore will officiate.
