Dr. William Lynch Obituary

Dr. William Stafford 6/22/44 - 7/16/14

On Wednesday, July 16, 2014, William S. Lynch, MD ("Bill"), a dear husband, father, grandfather and friend, died at Hillcrest Hospital of heart-related complications. He was born June 22, 1944, in Baton Rouge, LA to the late Charles and Elizabeth Lynch.

On June 10, 1995, Bill married Kirsten M. Trotter, MD, who survives him. After graduating from St. Francis De Sales High School in Toledo, OH in 1962, Bill attended the University of Notre Dame, a place he cherished for the remainder of his life.

He later attended medical school at George Washington University in Washington, DC. Following medical school, he joined the Indian Health Service in Tulsa, OK. He later found his home in the Chagrin Valley area where he practiced dermatology working for The Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals and most recently with University Dermatologists, his private practice.

Bill is survived by his wife, Kirsten; their two children, William and Kathryn Lynch, and four children, Kelly Hicks (David), Kristin Pruitt (David), Kevin Lynch (Meg) and Christopher Lynch (Beth), from his previous marriage to Sandy. Bill was a loving grandfather to eleven grandchildren, Brian, Conor, Matthew, Mary Cate, Brendan, Sarah, Luke, Caroline, Anna, Hannah, and Max. His sister, Nancy Kolpien and brother, Peter Lynch (Lauren), and several nieces and nephews survive him.

Bill touched so many lives and will be dearly missed by family, friends, patients, co-workers and shopkeepers. He will be remembered by everyone for having an infinite capacity for generosity and love. Those who knew him understood that his acts of kindness and love were given freely, and that the giving of them gave him the greatest joy. He loved to travel and had many adventures with his family by his side, and he enjoyed reliving them through sharing stories and pictures.

Services have already been held. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Bill may be donated to Hopewell Therapeutic Farm, 9637 State Route 534, PO Box 193, Mesopotamia, OH 44439.
