Mr. Winston B. Sr.



Mr. Winston B. Bey Sr., 86, of Toledo, OH, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, in his home in the presence of his loving family. He was a graduate of the Jesup W. Scott High School and an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran, having served in World War II. He worked for the A.P. Parts Corporation, retiring after 38 years. He was one of the founders of the A.P. Federal Credit Union and was the first founding president. He was an officer for the U.A.W. over 30 years, serving as Education Director of Local #14, Chairman of the A.P. Parts Unit, member of the Local #14 Executive Board and was also a member of the Lucas County Democratic Party, Ward Chairman for #13 and a member of the NAACP. He was a life member of the Golden Rule Lodge #129 of Elks, American Legion Hyatt Allen Post #538 serving as officers in both organizations.

He was preceded in death by wife, Mary Ann; son, Michael Bey; daughters, Brenda and Rhonda Bey; sister, Rosa Lee; brothers, Willie, Paul, Salome and Elihu. He is survived by daughter, Diane (Tyrone) Davis; son, Winston Bey Jr.; 7 grand and 17 great-grand and 5 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and kind friends.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014, at The C. Brown Funeral Home, Inc. Chapel, 1629 Nebraska Avenue. His lifelong church membership was with the St. Mark's MB Church. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014, preceded by Family Hour/Wake Services at 10 a.m. at the neighboring St. Paul M.B. Church, 1502 North Detroit Avenue. The Reverend James H. Willis, Pastor. The Reverend Dr. I. J. Johnson, Pastor of the St. Mark's MB Church, Officiant.
