Frank "Mike" J. Winkler, Jr., 63, of Toledo, OH, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, in his home. Born, August 14, 1949, in Monroe, MI, he was the son of Frank and Eileen (Gaynier) Winkler. A 1967 graduate of Bedford High School, he joined the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He married Susan Gray on February 16, 2005. Mike was employed as a heavy equipment operator by Stoneco in Maumee, OH for the past 16 years. He was a member of the Local 18, Operating Engineers, Bedford Volunteer Fire Dept. #2 and the American Legion, Post 514, Ida, MI. He was an avid NASCAR Fan, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, Michigan Football, building NASCAR Models, but most especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Susan; children, Tammy (John) Pandi, Kimberly Pratt, Kristy (Terry) Copic, Frank Winkler III, Mark (Jennifer) Henly and Tracy (Tommy) Lytten; mother, Eileen Winkler; brother, Doug (Debbie) Winkler, and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and grandsons, Devin Alvarez and Logan Lytten.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Monday at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Temperance, MI, where he will lie in state after 10 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Legion, 514, Ida.
