Duane May of Pasco, WA, passed away November 17th, 2012, at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA. Duane was born November 27th, 1942, in Knoxville, TN, to Cecil and Eleanor May.
Duane proudly served his country in the Navy from 1961 until 1971 as a nuclear trained submariner. After his Navy enlistment Duane attended Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee earning a degree in Electrical Engineering.
Duane spent his career in the nuclear industry. He worked at several commercial nuclear power plants across the country as well as DOE sites including Hanford.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents and wife Judith May. Duane is survived by wife Kyungja May whom he met in 2010. Kyungja brought Duane great happiness and a renewed love of life for the short time they had together. Duane is also survived by sons Chris May (Camille) of Clermont, GA, Jeff May (Melody) of Strawberry Plains, TN, daughter Melissa May of Knoxville, TN, stepson Scott Kasko of Pasco, WA, grandchildren Cody May, Emily May, Dalton May, Cameron May, Olivia May and Taylor Kasko, brothers David and Stanley and sister Nancy Holbert.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 11:00 a.m. at Riverview Baptist Korean Church, 4900W. Richardson Rd. in Pasco with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission in Pasco.
