Julian Webb Jones, age 85, of Kennewick, WA, was born on December 26th, 1928, in Sherman, TX. He had three brothers and one sister and was reared in the Houston area. His parents, James Andrew Jones and Florence Shoemaker Jones, are deceased.

Julian served in the United States Air Force from 1950-1952. During that time he flew the AT-6 Texan trainer and was stationed at various bases. He graduated from the University of Texas after the Korean War with a Bachelor of Arts in English. He married his life-long sweetheart, Barbara Lucille Ellis of Fayetteville, AR, on Aug 28, 1953. Julian attended the Episcopal Theological Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, TX, and was ordained as a priest in 1959 and received his Masters of Divinity degree in the 70's. His first parish was St. John's Episcopal Church in Sealy, TX. He then served as rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Natchitoches, LA, from 1960-1965. From Natchitoches, Julian became rector of the Church of the Holy Comforter in New Orleans, LA, from 1965-1975. In 1975, he transferred to St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Kennewick, Washington, where he was rector until 1993. He retired from the priesthood at that point, but still served as a dedicated supply clergy to various missions from time to time for many years. A man of faith, his pastoral career spanned over 40 years and he was much respected and loved by his parishioners. He had a wonderful talent for preaching and won a national award from the Freedom Foundation for his finely crafted and delivered sermons.

Julian enjoyed being outside working in his yard, walking, and reading. His favorite pastime was traveling the highways and byways in the Pacific Northwest with his devoted wife, Barbara, who died on Aug 30, 2012, two days after their 59th Wedding Anniversary. His care and devotion to her during her lengthy illness was remarkable. He was very ready to go home to his God and his soul mate.

Julian is survived by three children, Linden Annelle Jones (Williams), married to Harry John Williams III of Pass Christian, MS; James Marbry Jones, USN, Retired, married to Lena Ronning Jones, Captain, Nurse Corps, USN (stationed at Beaufort, SC); Phillip Allen Jones, married to Linda Sanchez Jones of Pasco, WA. One son, Thomas Andrew Jones is deceased. He is also survived by six grandchildren (including Craymond and Cameron Jones who reside locally) and five great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 1st at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kennewick, WA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his name to the St. Joseph's Society of St. Vincent DePaul or the Knights of Columbus #8179 for their mission and services to the elderly.
