Charles Henry Shannon Age 83, of Merritt Island, FL. Born September 15, 1930, Died July 20, 2014. Charles Shannon, son of Henry Alvieus Shannon and Sara Louise Maryott. He is survived by his wife Edna Shannon Merritt Island, FL, his children from his first marriage, Valerie Aliski, Stephen Shannon both of Portland OR, and Sylvia Shannon, his grandsons, Jared and Eric Johnson of Napa, CA and his sisters Elerine Shields, Lynden, WA, Geralyn Anderson, Tacoma, WA and Wilma Peterson, Tacoma, WA. Charles graduated from University of Washington worked as a Mechanical Engineer most notably designing the mounting unit for the Lunar Camera that took pictures of possible landing sites for the Apollo Missions of the 1960s. He also worked for the City of Tacoma, Boeing, and Architectural firm in Portland, in Johnston Atoll and in Saudi Arabia. He was born in Puyallup, WA in 1930, grew up with his sisters, Elerine, Geralyn, Wilma, and his brother William, in Lynden, before serving in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Florida and spent his last 25 years living in Florida enjoying life and traveling the world. We love you Charles and will miss you.
