Francis Jean (Betty) Jones Age 75, of Chehalis, Wash., died August 5, 2014 in her daughter's home in Moses Lake, Wash. Betty was born February 10, 1939 to Joe and Margret (Ecker) Sturdevant in Tacoma, Wash. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Ronald Jones, brothers Gene and Jerry, children Anthony, Rhonda, and Jack, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Betty's greatest passion was her family and spending time surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. This love of family drove her to become an accomplished genealogist, and she dedicated 30 years to teaching this craft to others at the Federal Way and Chehalis Family History Centers. Betty lost her hard-fought 15-year battle with breast cancer at home with her family. Betty was honored to fight this battle alongside Dr. Frank Senecal and his amazing staff. He promised her six months, and they battled together to create 15 years that we will always treasure. Thanks to Assured Hospice in Moses Lake for their guidance and comforting hand. It will always be appreciated. At Betty's request there will be no services. A private memorial will be scheduled for a later time and family will be contacted. We ask that donations be made in her name to the Assured Hospice Visiting Nurses Foundation, 1417 S. Pioneer Way, Moses Lake, WA, in lieu of flowers.
